Since sheltering in place, I’ve lounged more days than I’d like to admit. I’ve pigged out longer than I planned to, and have enjoyed several “before-five” cocktails. My house isn’t always spotless, and my laundry has never piled so high. I would usually beat myself up about everything I need to do; however, I have decided to permit myself the same grace I would extend to any new mom, who’s still recovering and navigating her way through parenthood. Because, well, I deserve that same grace.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m still striving for a spotless house, large bank account, and a banging #mombod, but I am giving myself the grace to fall short some days. I’m not perfect (whoa, did I just say that out loud?), but I am working. I’m actively working towards the life I want but taking more time to enjoy the beautiful one I have. I encourage you to find the beauty in your “now” and grant your self grace to rest and recover as necessary.
